Phuket, which is among the best tourist destinations in the world, is becoming popular after Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel’s superhit title song in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was picturised in this picture post card island. In the last year alone, a dozen Tamil songs have been picturised at this seaside resort.

Last week, Nayanthara flew from Switzerland—after completing the last song of Aegan with Ajit — straight into Phuket island where Vijay and director Prabhu Deva were shooting a song for Villu.

Meanwhile, Sundar C and his producer wife Kushboo flew into Phuket to shoot a song for their Aindham Padai. It looks as if it has become cheaper to shoot a song in Phuket rather than Ootty!

Diya Mirza walked the ramp after a gap of two years

Mumbai, (IANS) Bollywood actress Diya Mirza, who walked the ramp after a gap of two years at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), says she used to be scared of sashaying down fashion runways but has become confident over a period of time.

Decked in a wave embossed long satin tube dress with a side slit and silver embroidery at empire the actress walked the ramp for designer Arshiya Fakih at the fashion fete.

“Two year ago I used to be fearful on the ramp but now I wasn’t nervous at all,” Diya told IANS after the show here late Wednesday.

“I walked the ramp after two years and was very excited. It is easier to do a catwalk than acting but the adrenaline rush that you get once you are on the runway…that one distinct moment when all eyes are only on you is just amazing,” she added.

Diya said it was more fun to be backstage than being a part of the audience.

“The vibes backstage are just great. I think it is more exciting to be there than one among the audience. All the models backstage share a great bond and have great fun,” she said.

“I had never tried a tube dress but it was so much fun wearing it. It is how fashion should be - wearable and comfortable. When one looks at the dress one must feel ‘Yes I can wear it’. But I must say that it is very important that designers pay a lot of attention to smaller details,” the actress added.

Using fabrics like silk, satin and velvet, Fakih had crafted dresses and tunics of varied styles and designs. There were bubble dresses, dresses with gathered fabrics at the collar, pockets and waist, shirt dresses, print dresses with pleated empire and satin dresses with puff sleeves.

The colour palette encompassed hues like black, silver, grey, magenta, blue and beige.

“The collection depicts the concept of a utopian world. To give the robotic feel, stiffer fabrics were used unlike my previous lines where I used flowing fabrics. The line encapsulated the sensuous and elegant side of a woman,” said Fakih.

The outfits were accentuated with embroideries in black, grey and beige and chunky precious stones.

Aishwarya Rai thinks she has put on weight

Actress Aishwarya Rai is said to be on a weight losing spree as she prepares for her next lot of films – Shankar’s Robot and Mani Ratnam’s next.

The actress is apparently on a strict diet and exercise regime as she wants to get back in to shape – the way she was before marriage.

“Ash thinks she has put on a lot of weight after the wedding. So she is working very hard as she wants to go back to her earlier shape and weight. She is going to the gym regularly and is on a very strict diet,” says a close friend.

And it’s not just the Bachchan bahu who is on a weight loss mission. She has also roped in hubby Abhishek Bachchan.

“Abhishek has also put on some weight recently. He wants to get back into shape and in fact build some muscle. He wants to have a six pack ideally. Right now, with him filming away from home he hasn’t been very regular with his work outs. But Ash is keeping a tab on his food. She regularly checks in to see what he is eating and whether he is eating on time. So this way the two of them are working towards achieving their goal,” says the friend.

Aishwarya and Abhishek are to begin work on Mani Ratnam’s as yet untitled project from September. It is said to be an intense love story and quite different from Ratnam’s usual films.

“Ash and Abhishek want to look very fit in the film. They want it to be as successful as Guru. And comparisons are going to be natural so they want to be sure that they are ready for their look in the film,” adds the source.

By Joginder Tuteja : There were talks about Adnan Sami debuting as a leading man in Bela Sehgal's film which was to be produced by T-Series. However, with the project now been shelved, Adnan has moved on. He is open to the acting career but insists that currently, his priority lies in composing for films

"Frankly, I have shifted my attention to composing music. This is where my priority lies", says Adnan Sami whose songs were last heard in Vikram Bhatt's spook flick 1920, "I want to give fair amount of time in creating music though sometime down the line, I may be seen as a leading man too."

It was about a year back that his T-Series project was announced. His role was written keeping his real life personality when he used to be a fat man) in mind. A comedy, it was about a fat man falling in love with a girl. The trials and tribulations which followed provided a dramatic edge to the film where Adnan was supposed to be playing a singer. The film was also supposed to mark the debut of Mona Singh of 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin' fame. However, the project had to be abandoned since in the last few months, Adnan has lost about 100 kilos and he is not overweight anymore. Disappointed that the film is not happening?

"Not really because I am in no tearing hurry to become a hero", says Adnan Sami in a matter of fact tone, "Yes, acting is in the pipeline but that would happen only if I am absolutely satisfied with the script. I have to be comfortable with what I get to enact in front of the camera. I am ready to take my own time before plunging into acting."

Meanwhile he seems to have taken a backseat even as a singer. While there was a time when there was at least one song in his voice featuring in every second film album, today that doesn't seem to be the case.

Laughs Adnan, "Yes, I have slowed down because as I mentioned earlier, it is creating music which is keeping me occupied. My next soundtrack would be for Ken Ghosh's film that stars Shahid Kapoor. Then there is Raj Kanwar directed 'Sadiyaan'. It is a superb project with veteran actors like Rekha, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Shabana Azmi coming together. Plus, there is also a non-film album with T-Series", details Adnan
